Upcoming Webinar: Food Policy Councils as Key Players in Building Food System Resilience

April 11, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Free

During the COVID-19 pandemic, food policy councils (FPCs) stepped up to coordinate responses and services to support families, farmers and food businesses in their communities. While communities are moving on from the Covid-19 pandemic, there is work to be done to better prepare communities to respond to the next public health, natural or human-made crisis. FPCs are in a prime position to help shape an effective and equitable response to future disasters impacting their food systems.

The Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future and the Bloomberg Center for Government Excellence invite you to learn about a new resource to help local governments and FPCs plan for food systems resilience. The virtual workshop will introduce attendees to Food System Resilience: A Planning Guide for Local Governments and invite people to try out the Guide’s tools for building food system resilience. Attendees will learn about how equity is centered in this approach to food system resilience work and will hear about innovative work from the field.
